line and shape:
These photos were taken inside of the school in the main staircase, performing arts center foyer, and library. Most of the images are from a straight forward point of view, except the bottom middle photo, which was taken at an angle down. Because of the schools architecture, many of the images use vertical lines to create line and shape. By moving and cropping the images so that bold lines and shapes are not in the center, the rule of thirds is used for every image, whether it is used on the main focus or the background of the images. The images that catch the viewer's eye the most would be the images with a wide contrast of black and whites, such as the image with the banners or the staircase photos. These images show line and shape, as well as the contrast between different areas of the school where there is more or less light.
texture and pattern:
The images include many rough textures and sharp lines and patterns. The surfaces include shadows and contrast that make patterns stand out. The pictures were mostly off center, to include the rule of thirds. The image with the most texture is the center photo in the top row. The most captivating photo is the top row, right photo. there is a lot of use of texture and pattern between the rust and the gravel. Because the sun was out for a majority of the time when the pictures were taken, I think the lighting was good, because the contrast was much different than if it were cloudy. If I were to retake one photo, it would be the bottom right image because I feel like there is not enough contrast throughout the entire photo.
power lines and playgrounds:
Most of the images that were taken were mainly focusing on the rule of thirds. The photos in the top row especially use the rule of thirds. In the bottom center photo, there is a lot of contrast which makes it seem the most dynamic, because it leads your eye from the tree silhouette to the telephone pole and eventually to the power lines. The bottom right image shows organic and geometric shapes. Organic shapes are the tree branches, and the geometric shapes would be the triangular space between the telephone pole and the cables. The image that best satisfies the assignment would be the bottom left image because the main focus is the power lines, and it uses the rule of thirds where your eye is directly looking at the power lines.
